Christopher Linforth is the author of three story collections, The Distortions (Orison Books, 2022), winner of the 2020 Orison Books Fiction Prize, Directory (Otis Books/Seismicity Editions, 2020), and When You Find Us We Will Be Gone (Lamar University Press, 2014). Christopher has worked with Ed Falco, Lucinda Roy, Denis Johnson, Rick Moody, Aimee Parkison, and Andre Dubus III, among others. In the last few years, he has been awarded fellowships and scholarships to the BAU Institute at the Camargo Foundation, Kone Foundation, Fondation Heinrich Maria & Jane Ledig-Rowohlt (Château de Lavigny), Vermont Studio Center, the Sitka Center for Art and Ecology, Sewanee Writers’ Conference, the Ragdale Foundation, Virginia Center for the Creative Arts, Atlantic Center for the Arts, the Hambidge Center, International Writers’ and Translators’ House in Ventspils, and the Irish Writers Centre.

Recently, Christopher has published essays in The Millions, Quarter After Eight, The Pinch, South Dakota Review, Sonder Magazine, Sierra Nevada Review, Whiskey Island, twice in the University of East Anglia’s Hinterland, and in A Harp in the Stars: An Anthology of Lyric Essays (University of Nebraska Press, 2021). His book reviews have appeared in World Literature Today, New Pages, Necessary Fiction, The Rumpus, Southern Review of Books, Rain Taxi, the Colorado Review, and other outlets.
Christopher’s stories have been published in around one hundred literary magazines. Recent fiction appears in the Barcelona Review, Oxford Review of Books, Notre Dame Review, Banshee, Books Ireland, Witness, The Arkansas International, Fiction International, Grain, Southern Humanities Review, Monkeybicycle, Hobart, Hotel Amerika, BULL, Rock & Sling, Day One, SAND, New World Writing, Popshot, Meridian, Prism International, The Dalhousie Review, Consequence, and Best Microfiction 2021. He won the 2019 Epiphany‘s Breakout 8 fiction prize and has been a finalist for Witness magazine’s fiction prize.
